Terms of Service
Effective September 17, 2026
These terms are short on purpose. By texting Carlene or using the portal, you agree to them.
What Carlene is
Carlene is a fertility support service: someone to text about the emotional and practical side of trying to conceive, IVF/IUI, egg freezing, loss, and the waiting in between. The conversation is delivered by an AI companion, and Carlene is always transparent about being an AI.
What Carlene is not
Carlene is not a doctor, nurse, therapist, or clinic, and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment decisions, medication or dosage changes, or guarantees about outcomes. Information she shares is educational. Decisions about your care belong to you and your clinicians.
Carlene is not an emergency service and does not monitor for emergencies. If you may be in danger, contact local emergency services or your clinician immediately.
Reminders and check-ins are a convenience. Delivery is not guaranteed— messaging platforms can delay or block messages. Do not rely on Carlene as the only alarm for time-critical medication.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or older and agree that Carlene may remember what you share (you can change this at any time). You agree to use Carlene for yourself, lawfully, and not to abuse, probe, or attempt to extract other people’s information from the service.
Your data
How we handle information is described in the Privacy Policy. You can see, correct, forget, export, or delete your data at any time — see Data deletion.
Messaging platforms
When you reach Carlene over WhatsApp, WhatsApp’s terms also apply to you. You can stop messages at any time by texting STOP.
Availability and changes
Carlene is in early access. We may change, pause, or discontinue features, and we may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we will say so in the conversation before it takes effect. Continued use after that means you accept the change.
Liability
Carlene is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions made based on the conversation, for missed or delayed reminders, or for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits rights you have under law that cannot be waived.
